what brand of fuel do you run in your square?

There are only two ethanol free stations in Clark Co WA but I’m lucky enough to live 1/2 mile from one and its on my way home. Cool to see all the people gassing up boats and hot rods on a nice summer day. I always fill my vette there but generally just use Costco 87 for the burb. (I also have a 2012 Cruze for a DD - don’t care on brand but I always use at least mid-grade since it has a turbo).

Yep. Used to be able to get it the next town over (that's where the closest local drag strip is) about 15 years ago.

Yessir! both Turbo Blue and Cam2 used to be big around these parts in central IL, not many options anymore.. However, there is a Marathon station between work and home that sells Sunoco Standard 110 at the pump so that's become my go to when I'm feeling the urge.. @ $6.99/gallon! Also which if I remember correctly, Cam2 is the new Sunoco Standard or a "generic" of it?

I run Quiktrip or Shell 91 octane gasoline. If I get lucky and stumble upon 93 I'll use it but it's mostly 91 here.

Like for the QT, hate that you usually get 93. There is a drag strip north of dallas (actually really close to where I live in Denton) but, back in the day, if you didnt get fuel before you get there, the only place to get fuel is at a truck stop that only carries 91. And this is when they began throwing that stupid 10% ethanol to water down fuel. All of my "race" cars have been tuned for 93, not some ****** 91. Meh, Denton has changed in 10 years and at least 5 miles down the road, you can come into the edge of Denton and get 93 at QT

I use Chevron 89 octane. Back in 1995 when I had an '85 C20 with a 454 I never knew these truck were supposed to have 89 or higher. Check out the bottom right of the air cleaner label of my K30.

Whatever burns and is on the way and is 87 octane. Gas is gas. I don't believe in all the hype, nor am I willing to pay more for a label. I know that different brands put fancy "additives"...and blah, blah in their fuel, but all have to have the same industry standards. Some people actually believe that different brands of gas get better mileage......thats a bunch of ********. I do stay away from mom and pop stations that hardly have fuel being dispensed from. Gas does start to breakdown and go bad in a short period of time.

As mentioned above, the gas does have to meet a minimum standard, but the percentage of ethanol can and will vary. A mileage loss from higher concentrations of ethanol is fact based in chemistry (less btu's per volume).
The hype is the magic trick that gets us commoners to pay more for something that is essentially the same everywhere.

Edit: my old fart memory vaguely recalls an industry study that found the only modern additive that performed as advertised was the blue bottled Techron from Chevron. I can't recall why they made a point of the "blue bottle" but it stuck in my memory despite all the malted barley and bong resin. (Yes, another Tommy Boy reference)

i usually only buy gas in my town and no where else because there is a lot of independent stations near my work but i would never buy there as my ethanol tester found 87-93 to have between 15-29 percent ethanol.
the marathon gas i buy has 8-10 percent while the shell in town has 15%

I forgot all about ethanol content. The typical gasoline with 10% ethanol will reduce your fuel mileage by approx 3% compared to 100% gasoline. Unfortunately, many (most?) of us don't have access to ethanol-free gasoline.

I hope it's not long before environmentalists start yelling and screaming about how ethanol is contaminating the groundwater. Not to mention corroding the fuel systems of older cars that poor people must drive to work every day. So much for politicians caring about the poor.

Techron is a concentrated gasoline additive that cleans deposits from combustion chambers and valves. I'd say it's one of the few that's not in the "snake oil" category. Modern gasoline contains additives designed to do the same thing, but not in the same concentration.

There's only like 3 fuel suppliers in the us everybody generally has the same gas gas stations by the gas generally from the same supplier

I miss that real gas smell from the Mobil regular, it was heaven. And probably from a good source of vitamin L (lead) haha

Hell...I mis regular leaded gas myself...wow I just dated myself didn't I. Of course back when I started driving gas was 96 cents a gallon...unleaded was 1.12
