Doing front brakes and noticed some weird wear. It's just this one pad -- passenger side, outboard position, wearing much more on the trailing end vs the leading end. Down to the wear indicator and making noise. Last time I did brakes I replaced pads and calipers, but not rotors. This time I'm doing rotors and pads, not calipers. There's probably less than 5K miles on these pads, and the other three are all fine. Memory of last brake job is hazy, but I remember having some problems with this caliper, mostly because the front end is from a '78 and my rig is a '91 and I was having problems with things not mating correctly. Metric vs english banjo bolt or something??? I don't think I replaced the guide pins last time, definitely doing that this time in case that was the problem.

I forgot to mention, with all this I haven't had any real braking problems, stops well, does't pull to one side; I don't think they're dragging. Just a ton of noise from that wear indicator. It actually fooled me for quite some time since I've had a lot of problems with noise from the back drums almost since I've owned the truck.

Guide pins will probably fix that.

Well looks like we have consensus with guide pins - new Delcos from Amazon just got delivered today along worth new Wagner heavy duty pads. Annoying that the rotors won’t come till tomorrow - need those first not last.

Thanks, all
