I am replacing the water pump on my 87 454, there are four double-ended bolts that thread into the pump on one end and hold the fan on with the other.. I figured the new pump would come with them, but nope. Anyway, I'm having a tough time getting them off the old pump as they are threaded on both ends and even with a pair of vice-grips I cant get a good hold on them. Anyone have a good method to get them off? Or know where to order new ones? Thanks!!

I googled
“454 water pump fan bolt “

Dorman part # 23733

Any auto parts store should be able to get it

Nice! Thank you! I was suprised it was so hard to get them off since replacing water pump is a pretty straightforward process. Guess Ill have to pick up some new ones! Wish I would have ordered them from summit when I got the pump...

Put two nuts on the stud and tighten them hard against each other. Then use the lower one to unscrew the stud from the pump flange.

Glad it worked out. I guess you figured out that's how you install them too.
