Maby I should`nt post this in here as it does not pertain to a SquareBody,so,if I am wrong for posting this in here then would one of the moderators please delete it.
My 93 GMC 1500 that had them little headlamp bulbs that screwed in from the back of the lamp housing and I took the grill guard off,the grill out and replaced the seeping trans. cooler hoses, while I had it apart I noticed that one of the headlamp mounting devices was cracked,so,from all the scrapping I have been doing I happen to have a real nice Chevy 1500 grill and the two headlamp mounting devices, one for each side.I removed them plastic lamp housing assemblies and installed the four glass lamps in there.Got everything wired up and when I turn on the dims the outside lamps comes on OK but when I go to bright the dims turn off and just them bright bulbs is lit.
I`m thinking it would be better lighting if all four was lit when on bright so is what I`m-a thinking is to link the bright and the dim wires together with a diode between the two so the brights can not come on when just the dims is lit.
Now for the techie part of the whole works is,I do`nt know what size of a diede it would take to handle that much ampereage for a sustained amount of hours and then I am not sure that the wiring on the bright side would also handle that much draw.
Anyone gots any advice to this ???? Please speak now or forever hold Your peace.
