The front spreader ain't spreadin'. It's upside down
Aaa, yea...I did that on purpose....yea...that's it....
The instructions said to do that if you need better sealing toward the firewall....yea...that's it....
Aaa, yea....I did that just to see who's paying attention....yea.....that's it.

Ok ...I goofed.
But here's the really funny part...Stage8 wanted photos of their bolts on customer cars. I will be a national embarrassment if they use that photo. Lol...
Guess I'll flip it and send them an updated pic...
That's funny...

After checking all 8 of the spreaders, I am happy to announce that the upside down bar has only one buddy back on the downside of 5-7.

Strange...because, I was really paying attention when putting them on.
I'm just at a loss for how I missed it.
Oh well...

Update:
Picked up a set of metal reinforced rubber vc gaskets. Also a set of spreaders and a set of locking head screws. (I had to get bolts anyway because of the spreaders.)
I'm just glad to see someone else with an oily/grimy engine who isn't afraid to post pictures of it... I have the same repair/upgrade on my shortlist, but I think I'll do it with my headers and such this fall.

I learned a long time ago to not give a rat's rip about what folks think.
When ya worry about what others think, ya only wasting brain cells.

Old chevy did not have spreaders, just little metal reinforcement on the covers. We stole them from Corvairs and VW's.
I always considered the funky triangular mounting tabs as spreaders, but the Corvair did have cool spreaders. What VWs are you robbing spreaders from?
