Around here we have a place called Applied Industrial Solutions, used to be called Bearings, Inc. All you have to do is disassemble one side, take the inner and outer bearings and races, and what you can salvage of the seal, and they mic everything and give you 2 of everything (enough to do both sides). So maybe you should look for a local place like that, maybe in the yellow pages. Hope this helps, John!

I like the second link of the oil filled center wheel axle. Theres a dealer in hagerstown MD that sells trailer parts and conversion kits for trailers.

most boat trailer axles for smaller boats are a 1 inch spindle you can get them from northern tool for a few dollars. I bought new hubs for my homebuilt trailer and just was able to bolt them right on. they were even greased already.

I think it is a damn good price there for the oil filled ones, I was hoping somebody else here ever tried them before I took a leap on them.

I got to find the weight rating for mine, maybe that will help, mine is a little bit heavy.

How do you get the oil in them? I'd just be concerned with the clear plastic cap getting brittle with age. Or just brittle in cold weather even.

There is a fill plug with o-ring.

There is a little icon at the bottom PDF format to click on for the user manual, give it a read, it's only 2 pages. They uses this setup on big rigs, I don't know why it shouldn't work on smaller scale.

Only thing I'd be afraid of is something smacking the cap and breaking it at the boat ramp or going down the road. The few reviews there are good, but I want to see more.

FTW !!! Grease Buddies. Especially since your hubs get submerged in water. Your trailer axle and hubs will love you for it. NIKE, JUST DO IT !!!

Yeah, and you sucked me into your brain fart too. :flipthebird:

:rofl: But yes, by far, certainly the way to go and even more so on submerged axles. And with a grease gun, you can add a pump of grease every so often and done cuz they have grease zerks on them.

Well I dug into my trailer this weekend to find a pleasant surprise. The axle is center drilled with a grease fitting to repack the bearings without touching a thing. Just pop the cap off and pump until the new grease comes out. I did remove both hubs to inspect and clean everything. I had about 2 yards of braided fishing line around the one hub lol.

Trailer bearings
OD = 1.965"
ID = 1.650"
Seal I'd = 1.5"
