I’m trying to decide if I should put a Silverado badge on my Scottsdale truck?
I’m going to be installing full carpet and full door panels with all the extras and power windows. Im also installing on the back of the cab the 3 piece trim. But I’m on the fence if I should go all the way and swap badges? What’s your guys opinion on it?

Since it's a Scottsdale, that's what I'd go with. They're also more rare than Silverados. Scottsdale would have been any # of options. Could even have the Silverado options but still be a Scottsdale because of how it was ordered.

Having a Scottsdale is far more unusual. I snagged nice emblems for mine (when I finally found them) since they are NLA.

The upside to Silverado is that it's what they call all the pickups now. So people who aren't necessarily truck fans will make the association. If that's the kind of people you're concerned about. For those in the know Silverado has a little more cachet as a higher trim level, but those really in the know may be able to spot the "imposter". But as we discussed in another thread there's no great collectability in these things, so being original doesn't matter that much. Do what pleases you.

How do you add the 3 piece trim if the rivets aren't there?

#8x1/2" Phillips screws. The pan head type, rather than the type with a flange washer made into the head.

My '75 truck has the GMC Sliverado trim option (per RPO code), but I don't think there are any Silverado trim plates.

voted Scottsdale - you don't want my opinion.

Is yours like mine? Who really cares what badge is on it? Honestly when I check out a square body, I never look at what badge it has. I don’t say oh it’s just a custom deluxe, or oh my god hard on it’s a Silverado. I wouldn’t waste my time changing badges.
