Those three pictures also illustrated the variables in Rallye wheel trim rings! Seems like the 83-84 had a recessed edge on the ring, most visible in the center picture, and the 85-up has a tapered edge that's an extension of the taper in the ring....
Pretty sure the ones Dad used on the factory "wagon wheels" steel spoke wheels on the '78 Sierra shop truck, had a vertical edge, with a gently rounded corner leading to the horizontal inside the ring. This closely fitted to the inner part of the wheel rim, nearest the wheel center.
Looked really cool on a yellow truck with yellow wheels, bumpers, and mirrors; only chrome on it besides the bar grille and tailpipe tips. The grille was a Stull aluminum bar style, and it had black vertical bars that the brushed finish aluminum bars bolted to. These bars were not square, but a box with a point to the outer facing side. Think about the shape of the house on Monopoly.....
Stull also made a "custom" build it yourself grille with those bars; we sold one to a customer who made it fit on a '71 Mustang (actually looked great!).

A little off topic, but Chevy and Ford have brought back the different colored roof on the new trucks. I've seen several running around the area. The ones that I have seen have black cab roofs. I guess what's old is new again.

1981 C20 - You can see the two-tone scheme on the cab. It's currently a four tone paint scheme.

Before I stripped the 86, I took a ton of measurement pics of the trim.
And then realized that the stripes and trim were nowhere near consistent. And used none of the measurements.
But here’s all you need to know.
1. Pinstripe should pass just clear of and just under the door handles.
Whatever that measurement is from the upper body line, carry that dimension from that body line everywhere…except the front couple feet of the front fenders.
2. Stripe on front fenders, was not real consistent even with OE applications.
Depends what you want it to look like. The pinstripe will adjust to your preference. But I carefully split the stripe to top of fender and stripe to the fading body line equally. It looks real good I think but almost too “perfect” compared to how some/many came from the factory.
3. The trim is centered on the wrap around at the tail lights and the front poser lights. Straight line in between. Again find your dimension and pull it off of the body line. Center of trim ends up just below centered on gas doors as a check that you’re straight.

The replacement pinstripes are very accurately made. But you’d have to cut the stripes off the backing perfectly to use the clear film as protection. And I’d never place that stripe before paint.
However do need to be mindful of paint line under the pinstripe. Any ridge in the paint break line will telegraph thru the vinyl stripe. The order in which I painted and clear coated required a lot of detail sanding to smooth that out before applying the stripe.
Also I bought a roll of magnetic tape. It was a great help/ guide for layout, sanding, and placing the pinstripe and trim pieces. Invaluable in fact.
Better than masking tape for laying a line to install to imo as you could adjust it anywhere without peeling the tape up.
Magnetic tape? That is a fantastic idea, never heard of that.

Yeah, I've seen those F150's too. They have the secondary color on the roof and lower body too. I like it. Haven't seen it on a Chevy yet though.

Thought about this for the first time ever... I don't like white on the roof. Final answer.
Shorty's truck looks great but I don't like white on the roof he even got the white wagons and it doesn't work for me. :( if I was gonna change my mind..? I would point at his truck though. Good work @Shorty81

My favorite more common scheme is the center stripe like Grit Dog's. Mine came with the lower color - what I'll do if I wussie out on trying to do the center stripe. But if I knew I could pull it off, this is how I would paint my truck - my favorite scheme......3 tone. :hat:

There's a couple of the 2015ish silverados with the 70's center two tone paint rollin around here. One has the white "wagon wheels" too lol

 Thanks man, I had a good laugh and do not disagree.
I see that pov but I like monochrome color schemes too much!
Mother F painting stuff black - like grilles and headlight buckets...eww.
Let's not start on black wheel...
That screams "look at me mommy! Look at me!"

Yeah yeah white will help cool the cab, science and stuff. I get all that but it kills the flow AND it's two different colors.
lol¿?

"For Us Or Against Us"

Turn your back and take a look
at what the world is really like.
What is there for you and I? (Nothing short of suicide)

Burn the candle at both ends,
the options growing few.
Something's wrong, don't pretend (you must now decide)
Mounting pressure, social breakdown
a dying planet, revolution, mass uprising,
we're begging for it.

Live for us, or live for them
the worker is the key.
shut outside, with no defense (from factory to burning fields).

Sweat and blood, for days and years
hours wasted still, more to life than wealth and war?
(what is left for them to kill?)

The force of life, is dead of thirst
golden years have turned to rust, our spirits crushed,
our bodies bleed, our throats are cut.

And dreams of better times have turned to dust.
For the last time, can you **** off an die?
You made this world, and killed it.

So rich that your cash has made you blind,
you don't give a **** about us. My patience is too thin to try.
Your kind was made to suffer, by the powers we hold in time.
Your life will soon be over.

Our lives determined by the system's needs,
lost inside its cold machinery.
****** for life, 'cause the base is paved.
We ***** ourselves out for a daily wage.

Laughing at the children by their feet,
their greed can turn such innocence to meat.
So contract signed, and with no mind to feed,
the masses slave it while the masters feast.

The sources of their lies, are hidden in the past
The essence of the truth, lies dead in the aftermath.
Find another way, before the cause is lost
Pull yourself up, and we'll fight together.

With us or not, there are no in-betweens
Try and think fast, or you won't be breathing.
From this point, the only way is up
Time is running out, the door is slamming shut.

The burden of a cost, may be too much
It takes a lot of lives, just to break the cycle.
It takes a lot of hate, and takes a lot of luck
the sooner it's all done, we can finally say we're free

Burning, our consciousness. The fire is spreading.
The challenge is waiting...
