How many of you guys have used a two-piece timing cover, thinking it would make cam swaps easier? What was your experience like? Do it again? Which one did you use? Did yours leak more than a conventional one-piece cover, or was it fine? Thanks in advance for the responses.

It does make it easier since you don't have to pull off the balancer. As far as leaking, I'm not sure.

It depends on the cover style. I run the cheap chrome version in my Camaro and you have to take the balancer off. I only chose it so I didn't have to drop the pan for a cam swap. It needs a bead of rtv at the bottom so it doesn't leak like crazy. But with the rtv, it has never leaked.

Not having to drop the pan is the biggest draw for me. Pulling the balancer is no big deal. I am looking at one for my Monte Carlo, as the cam I have installed may or may not be too big. I think the cam will be fine, but just in case...
