I ordered a new 16 gal tank, passenger side sending unit and new 6 port selector valve for a measley $187 shipped to my door!! But look below...

I went and bought some apple cider vinegar... I am amazed!!! I forgot to take a before pic of the filler neck, but lets just say it was black every where with gunk and look at it now after soaking and using only a tire brush!

I am in the process of getting some plumber brushes so I can clean all of the filler pipes but the outside of them look just as good.

Yes apple cider vinegar only!

My filler pipes are now squeaky clean as well!!

Now just waiting on the parts... I am reusing the anti squeak that I have... it is flat and broken down but I don't feel like buying new ones.

I sent the wife to AA and she bought me a new gas cap and fuel line. She said it doesn't say fuel line on it. The guy said they don't label them anymore.

I call ********. My wife knows cars and we both thought that was weird. I'm pretty sure vacuum lines don't have anything on them and fuel line always has an identifier on it.

Thoughts?

I have personally never seen fuel line with no markings or pressure ratings on there before. I would go somewhere else and grab some if it were me.

it is reinforced and has the size and other markings but doesn't say FUEL on it anywhere. I am going to use it anyway, mechanical pump only pulls 6 psi anyway.

last question I believe before my parts get here tomorrow.

The supply line and return line of the passenger sdie.. the metal pipe part.. they are rusty looking inside and I cannot get a bottle brush down in there to clean them out.

Can I run just rubber hose from the sending unit to the new 6 port selector valve?

Will that be too much line and collapse? It is not very far so I thought maybe I can skip it.

Does it by chance have a part # on it with those other markings? If so look it up and verify it's fuel line. It's not only the pressure you're concerned about. It's rubber recipe during manufacturing that matters too. Gas will eat thru some line or make the rubber soggy.

Hotrod thanks for that suggestion, but can I run the 2 feet of hose from sending unit to selector valve since metal fuel tubes are nasty.

I looked up the SAE30R6KX number on the hose. Straight from the website.

Goodyear hose product:

Specially designed for gas, oil, diesel, and other fuels
Resists temperatures up to 212°F (100°C)
Minimum Burst 175 PSI (1.2MPa)
meets and exceeds SAE J30R6 specifications
ChemigumTM tube compound for outstanding resistance to petroleum based fuels
Two Spiral Polyester reinforcement
ChemivicTM cover compound for exceptional abrasion resistance and exposure

3/8 supply 5/16 return 1/4 vent

the sizes are right but not what they go to...on my truck they are:

3/8 supply, 1/4 return, 5/16 vent

CAN I RUN JUST THE RUBBER HOSE FROM SENDING UNIT TO SELECTOR VALVE SINCE MY METAL LINES ARE TOO SMALL TO CLEAN AND THEY ARE RUSTY. THIS IS FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE SO IT IS A SHORT DISTANCE.

I would just bend up some new lines. Unless it's secured well, it can chaffe and wear on the crossmember. The less rubber you have in your fuel lines, the better.
