Neither does he.

You may think you have EVERYTHING you need to rebuild it ordered, but the truth is when you tare it apart theres ALWAAYS something that wasnt exspected, Not to mention when you start building it, If you actually build it the RIGHT WAY and Actually Check all your Clutch pack clearence and end play you more then likely will need shims and possably different pressure plates. And unless you build Transmissions frequently you problably arnt going to have spare parts laying around.

Yep, so true. I have me a can to save up selective thrust washers, and I do keep steels, pressure plates and pistons for that reason. It does suck to put a project on hold to order something, or have to stop and go buy it. It sucks having all the hard parts laying around but you better have them or plan on paying more for are rebuild that you intended. Or many times you know of a later design in a part that is better so you save all the good ones you can for when you pull one apart that has the old style and you want to upgrade. Or vice versa. Sometime the new design is to save a few bucks, so you keep all the old designs you can that are better. Transmissions are not for the shade tree mechanic or the wannabees, or the hopetobees.
