The clutches and band interchange, most of the piston seals are the same, the case, pump, valve body, won’t work. There are lots of other little things that are different. According to the ATSG book, there are pump/reverse input housings, and pistons that aren’t compatible. If your serious about trying to overhaul your trans, you would be time and money ahead buying the correct overhaul kit. If you want to use the hard parts you need to closely inspect the parts, and probably do some research to ensure the parts fit
