I would assume you may have to change torque converters or maybe there is an adapter? Haven't messed with this stuff and still learning. I know with an Ls motor I can use my 350th with it by using an adapter and modifying the bolt holes in the flex plate. Might be the same thing for the 454?

Make shure you have a dual bolt pattern flex plate.

If 3 of them line up bolt it up and forget about the other 3. That's what I was told by tech support at Jeggs when I called in with this question. But mine was a old 350 going to a newer 4L80 so I'm not sure if your issue is the same or if your bolt pattern is truly different.

Most apps only had 3 bolts anyway. Some of the heavier duty applications used 6 bolts.

I always thought there was only two mounting patters- a large and a small. But more recently I tried to use a flexplate from a vortec 350 on a tbi 350 with a th350 and high stall aftermarket convertor, the patterns didn't match. Had to use the flexplate from the tbi motor. So apparently some newer applications use a different bolt pattern than in the past.
