Father/Son project of our 1972 GMC. We were lucky in getting the truck back, decided to put a thread out and keep you guys updated as we go along . Also will be needing input from you guys along the way because we are novices when it comes to bodywork. Thanks for all advice.

We traded the two squares above to get the 1972 back.

I have never been good at keeping paint in good shape always been better at making dents and scratches. Never had any interest in body work or painting wish I had paid little more attention to some of people that did this type work. Now it’s middle of December and going to need to get truck under some kind of primer to protect the metalwork. Any suggestions will be helpful. We don’t plan on painting the truck until we get all mechanical issues under control.

That is decently short. A 2" lift is nice. My 78 has a 2" on it and I like the look.

Yeah truck was still daily driven by the guy we got it back from. The motor is tired but cranks and runs like a champ. I have original motor in my garage that will be last thing we do hopefully.

Good to see you started this thread. I think any primer would suffice to protect the metal overwinter.
