Anything that makes a ton of noise going down the road isn't going to last very long, comparatively speaking. If it takes you several years to run 10K, then you can afford to run about anything.

Ive had my truck not quite a year, and put 5-6k or so on her.
I got tire estimates today.
35x12.5-15 BFG AT's $803.96(also has 50k mil warrenty)

35x14.5-15 Nitto MG $1271.96(no warrenty)

Although personally, I think a 35" A/T is kinda pointless. Why go big if you can't do much with them? Did you price the BFG MT's?

Bucket mentioned the BFG MT (KM2s). I just got mine put on today and have put on around 30 miles I guess. I have to say I am disappointed so far. I had some Goodyear Duratrac tires (265/75R16) on it (only around 7 months old). Load range E. 45 psi. They were great on the highway when I had to drive on one. Good on gravel- but throw some rocks. Decided they will be dedicated winter tires so bought the BFG KM2s.

They are 285/75R16s load range E. Just a little taller, and a little wider. One tire took a lot of weight (3 on the outside and 1 on the inside). They filled them to 65 psi. And they feel like mush. It almost feels like I have 4 tires that are very low. There is no steering response, on the highway I'm pretty sure one of the rear tires is not balanced well, as I feel it in the seat and the gas pedal. I did drive on a gravel road to get home. They do feel better on that. Guess because of the "mush" ride they soak up washboard and potholes.

I'm spending 2 days at the local ORV park next week and I'm sure I'll like them there. And some say that tires need a few hundred miles to cure/set. Maybe that will be the case?

Strange , I have a set of km'2s on my 06 duramax , (325/60-20)= 35.6 tall 13.2 wide , and I am very happy with them. The only thing that I can say bad about them is they are not a good snow tire on plowed roads , (they do ok in the deep stuff) and as they wear they are getting a little loud , (they have 37,000 miles on them now , 1/4 tread left) , but other than that they have been a nice tire all around , but I dont like the price either , 568.00 each. My buddy has 35" nitto muds on his 07 dodge diesel and he like's them as well , but he tells me that they dont do well on plowed roads either , (no mud tire really does) and they are for sure louder on the hwy. than the km'2s and heavier as well , but he likes them all around as well , and they look mean. I guess all tires have there down sides , but I am very happy with my km'2s. IMO. I dont think any radial tire compare's to the old bais tire's , (monster mudder's , ground hawg's , swamper's) in the mud. I agree with bucket , I have no problem with bais tires anywhere , I run them on a lot of my square's and they perform great in most case'es and once they heat up they round out and ride pretty good.

Excellent, now that we've got that out of the way... For your pavement princess, the BFG will be a more stable tire in all situations. Wet, dry, icy, snow covered. The only place that the Nittos will do better is in mud and fresh snow. Unless you live in some screwed up area where all of the roads are cut and paved on an extreme angle. I've been all over West Virginia, most of the time, your roads are pretty flat side to side.

The tires in my Burb are an MT type and they actually do great in all types of snow. They are Widetrack Baja MT, it's a shame because I think they are out of production. They look like a knock off of the MT Baja MTZ's, I plan to run those next so hopefully they will perform similar.

First off, shes not a pavement queen, second off, i dont live by pavement, and 3rd, where the **** did you get the idea that i live in west virginia.

right now rocks arnt a concern, but im wanting to fox the body all up and paint it. Then she will be a nice looking pavement pounder, cause i cant afford to burn 1/2 tank to go down a 1 mile road. Im running 32x11.5-15's now and yea, they throw rocks lol. I dont pull many people cause of it. but when i get it painted and everything, im gonna have the biggest mud flaps on the front that still look good, and semi flaps trimmed on the back.
