I am looking to put new tires on my 1987 Chevy. I'm thinking of Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's. Any suggestions or anyone run these and have an opnion?

Thanks!

I recently bought a set, although I have not yet driven on them other than moving around the yard. But they replaced a set of Widetrack Baja MT's which is basically a rip off of the Mickey tires, I was very happy with those tires in all conditions and I got 70K or something like that out of them. I also have a friend that runs a set of MTZ's, he is happy with those too.

Iv got a 98 wrangler with 33x12.50 MTZ's and I love them. Iv got Baja claws on my k10 that are about to be replaced with MTZs.

I've always heard good things about the MTZs but I've never run them myself. IMO the best looking tire you can get are Iroks, but they will sing pretty loud on the road and have a shorter tread life. Toyo MTs are a great tire, good off road and quiet on road with a good tread life. And I am also a fan of the directional Kumho MT tire.

I've had each of the three I mentioned and have not had an issue out of any of them.

I am a fan of the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac. I have them on several vehicles and they are quiet on the road yet great in mud and also rated for deep snow. All of mine are the 10 ply and I consistantly get 50,000 out of a set. Hope his helped.

I ran B.F.G. ATs on my '79 G.M.C. 2500 and on '88 Dodge Ram and love them. I am currently running Falken Wildpeaks ATs on my '99 Dakota. They also are good. Neither tire is great in deep mud or rocks but for a d.d. I like them both. With my G.M.C. I just picked up I may try the B.F.G. Rugged Terrains.
