Thrifty lowering

Hi there. I'm a newbie to this site and this is my first thread. I'm 79 and still a gearhead. I've always
Been into cars, but not trucks. Well, that's changed. This past january, I bought a 87 chevy short box,
350 tbi, 700 r4. H D suspension. It is in pretty nice shape. Anyhow, I wanted to lower it all around
But not radical. In the front , cut 1 full coil which dropped it 2 1/4". Rear had 6 H D leaves. Pulled
Bottom 3 leaves and installed 2" shackles for a drop of About 4 1/2". Sits about right for me.
I don't know how to put pics on here, so I can't show you. Oh, I almost forgot, I just insralled
Bell tech nitro drop 2 shocks on front, and fabbed some extended rear shock brackets for the rear.
I guessi it goes to show, Old guys don't have to quit having fun. Jerry

Just a update on the shocks I used for my mild lowering job.
If you are going to use belltech nitro drop 2 for front, make
Sure you specify you want lowering shocks. I thought drop 2
Meant a drop of 2". Learned the hard way. Had to reorder right
Ones.got them at Summit racing . Great folks to deal with.
These are shocks I used: front- belltech nitro drop 2 pt. 8005.
Rear-Gabriel pt. 81164. With shock extenders. Forgot to mention
Before, rear springs are 56" HD. Anyway, now truck rides great.
A real pleasure to drive.

Understandable mistake on your part. Kind of a dumb name for a product line that includes stock length shocks.
