That's very nice. I plan on going the flatbed route on mine also.

With my 3/4 ton. Obviously not the same thing. But I want a flat bed pickup that is capable of pulling my fifth wheel camper.

Be careful with people my friend. There are so many great people in America. But there is that other side. Lie and deceit. With no remorse. I used to be the agreeable type. Wasn't any good at negotiating. But as I have gotten older, I have understood that I was being a beta Male. Be the alpha Male. But be honest and dont **** people over.

When I was much younger, I had a 91 5sp Toyota pickup for a work truck and loved it. Small, went anywhere, good gas mileage, etc.
I decided to buy my own, but they were hard to find cheap. I found an automatic (ick), but no big deal. 33s.
I didn't look over it well enough, though, and found out afterward that it had been rolled and reconstructed (but not on the title). The bed was rotted completely to **** (had bed liner covering it). To top it off, it was gutless as hell and got like 15mpg.
I paid $2500 for it, welded the entire bed up, and a few years later unloaded it.

Hate say this, but I paid too much for my 82 C10 five years ago. Then with the swap from 250 six & manual trans to 350 & auto trans & steering column, I nearly doubled my "investment". Over the years I have installed new front & rear brakes, dropped spindles, dropped hangers, along with all new steering and suspension parts. Now I'm replacing the entire wiring harness.

I probably have $7000-$8000 total "invested" in a base truck that's worth maybe $5000. My buddies say it's a hobby, just like golf, where I shouldn't expect to get my money back. That does make me feel a little better -- I guess.
Im quite sure I have at least twice the money invested in all of my squares than I could sell them for. Its ok, they are mechanically solid and I don't plan to sell anyway. And I don't have monthly payments!
