TH400 Kick Down Solenoid

Gents,
I just did a trans service on my TH 400 and replaced the kickdown solenoid, vacuum modulator, gasket, fluid and filter.
The truck didn't have proper kick down prior to the service and still doesn't after replacing all the parts although it s
Up shifts and down shifts perfectly otherwise.
I tested the switch with a multimeter and reset it with the pedal. I also replaced the spade connector on the line leading to the switch on the solenoid
What else could I be missing?

Do you have power to the switch? And power to the solenoid?

Confirm modulator function (vac at modulator, modulator health, modulator valve condition/freedom of movement, etc).

If you've already confirmed all of the above, drop the valve body and check the detent and detent regulator valves for freedom of movement. They like to get stuck as the VB wears over time...
