hey guys / can i use kolene steels and regular steels in the same clutch drum

Sure, no reason you couldnt. Proper clearance is much more important vs mixing steels with/without coatings . That said, kolene-coated steels arent generally needed in a TH400 unless you're doing something really heavy duty-oriented.

Don't think I would, as they have a different coefficient of friction.

Ive done it numerous times over the years, never had any issues with performance, function or reliability. If they do have a difference in friction coef, it's not material based on my own personal experience - perhaps yours was/is different...
