TBI Fuel tank sending unit removal

How do you disconnect the yellow wiring connector? Or maybe you don’t and have to disconnect those from below the tank? If so are those connectors in the drivers side frame rail? Got everything else disconnected and ready to pull it out of the tank except for the wires. Replacing my pump with a Walbro 190 in anticipation of my 383 swap.

Yes, your second suggestion is correct. Follow the loom up the frame, and there's a weatherpack connector near one of those crossmembers. It actually maybe easier to attack it from the other side of the axle because it's right around there if I remember correctly.

Thanks - got it off. Yeah it’s just on the front side of the axle, pretty easy to get actually. Hardest part was the ground lead that’s connected to the frame above the tank. My 3/4 burb is tall enough and I’m short enough to sit under there to be able to see what I’m doing.

No problem! Yeah, when I took mine off I ripped the end off the ground strap, but that didn't really matter. I absolutely cannot sit under there, but mine's stock stance and stock sized tires. That would sure be handy, though.

I installed insulated spade connectors in my ground wire, so if I ever need to drop it again its and easy disconnect instead of unbolting the ground on top of the frame.
