Hello, Here is my 77 GMC 2wd short bed. PO installed lowering kit and rims and tires. I'm not sure of the amount of lowering, but from what I can tell is it has tubular upper and drop pocket lower control arms. Unsure about height of coil springs or if it has a drop spindle or not. Hear has axle on top of the leafs, lowering blocks, shackle kit and a leaf removed. Tires are 255/50-18 and 285/50-20s. Issue is, rides and drives like crap. hit a bump and it seems to want to jump into the next lane. Steering is a bit un predictable. And Im not sure I like the excessive rake and wouldn't mind raising it a little as well. I did take it to get aligned and the shop maxed out the shims but was unable to get it perfect. That did help a bit but Im just trying to make sure its safe. Options I think I have are removing the existing drop kit and installing one with a little less of a drop, like a 2/3 or a 2/4. Installing either all 18 or 20 inch rims. In person the rake is really more noticeable. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway over all I love the truck and want to make it a safe reliable cruiser.
Thanks!
