How hard is it to install a third row seat in a square 'burb? What kind of labor and parts are necessary?

This is more of a curiosity question. Eventually I would like to have a 'burb for a family toy vehicle. I look through them on CL every once in while, and actually found an intriguing one, but no third row seat.

Pics of said 'burb, just because.

I would think the inserts are built into all models?

I had one with and one without. the inserts are in the floor of the one with, but the floor of the one without was smooth. I would imagine it to be a lot of cutting and welding to make it work. I don't want a third row so I wanted to swap the one in my 91 to my 89 that I sold to a friend (he wanted one) but we decided it was too much work even if we could find the mounts in a junkyard. My Third row seat is being used as a bench in my exercise room! :p

Other half-arsed research has backed up what HJ said. The mounting points are not in those not equipped with third row.

These are a couple of excerpts that explain what I failed to word in my head just now...

"Adding a factory 3rd row may be a bit of work. The floor structure that the seat latches into is spot welded into the floor. I suppose you could modify it to clamp in but safety and ease of removal would be two points to consider."

"You have to cut out and weld in the floor support/catches to put the third row in."

So there you go. Maybe it would be just as easy to fab in some newer generation seats if I were to ever embark on this journey.

This reminds me I need to go to the PO that I bought my bird from and pick up the third row seat sitting in his garage.

Burb not bird. Voice recognition isn't perfect yet.

Bob,
I just saw that one on CL as well. I really need a CC or Burb so the whole family can go when I tow the boat. The gas mileage is even worse when I have two vehicles going somewhere.

That's why I want a K5 or Burb 4x4. Pick up isn't going to work anymore. My 25 yo daughter keeps popping out kids, my 17yo son is already walking in my footsteps being a man *****, so he'll be popping one out of some chick soon. To hell with it, I may as well just get a damn 66 Passenger school bus and 4 wheel drive convert it with some Rockwells.

Not really, I hope my son is a bit smarter than me.

It was one of the cleaner ones I have seen on CL lately that was 4wd. I can find clean 2wd ones all day it seems like. And a lot of the 4wd ones I do find are either already lifted or over priced. And the lifted ones are not done the way I want them to be done.

Terry, do you leave your truck out here on the west side or back east by you?

I have "permission" from the wife to run 35's on a 'Burb. No bigger than that though. Plans are 52" springs up front, shackle flip in the rear, zero rates to correct axle position if necessary, for a total of 5" of lift. Decision between 33's or 35's will happen when/if it is needed.

HR, you need to liquidate most of your stash of... well everything really. You probably have enough stuff to build your self a nice 'Burb with all the 3/4 or 1 ton running gear you desire, and anything else you might want with it. Keep one 2wd truck, equip it with the same motor/tranny combo as your 'Burb, and keep one spare combo that can be slipped into either one of them at a moments notice. At this moment for me, the SS will need to be sold before a 'Burb is acquired.
