Stroker 454

Anyone put a 4.5 crank in a stock block 454? 4.28 bore =517CI. Have been researching and it's been done, (Davis Vizard) uses 6.385 rod custom pistons. More practical is the Scat rotating with a 4.375 crank, W /4.28 bore yields 504. Thinkin of going that route. Anyone with a 504 out there?

Depending on block you may have to dremel bottom edge of cylinders to clear rods

Yep, was planning on putting it on the Bridgeport and milling out rod clearance.

Starting off with a gen 6 block would make things a lot easier. Main oil Gallery moved up to make more room for a stroker crank. 4.5 stroke crank would make for some really short pistons(9.8 deck). Race engine maybe but i would never go that route in a street driven engine. 504/505 is a pretty common combo for a stock deck height block. MY engine is a gen 6 based 502 block. 4.530/4.375 for 565 cu in.
