I cross threaded the fuel filter, now she’s leaking. Thought I had it on straight. Guess I’m an idiot. Besides that, what can a guy do ? Jb weld? Thread tape?

Assume the filter in the mid q jet housing? There used to be repair kits. Problem with cross threading is the gasket won't seal. JB or any other sealer won't fix it. Most times either got it threaded straight or tossed the carb.

There used to be a repair fitting sold in the “Help!” (Dorman) product line.
Like some others, many 'Help' parts for these trucks just aren't available any more. (40 or 50 year old trucks)

What can work, get a new carb filter inlet nut. Hacksaw some slots to make it into a re-threading tool. Take your time, and get it straight in.

My favorite Helps tool, this door spring tool:
