Stock Window Trim 87 Silverado

Looking to replace my windshield and rear window (with a non slider). Anybody know what the stock trims look like? And where I might find some quality pieces that look stock? Here is what I have now and I know they are not original.

I've used Precision window rubbers and have been happy with the quality. Chevy came with chrome trim and GMC came with the black.

^Like he said, black window strips were “stock” too.
You can get black or chrome, from most any classic car parts house.

Z62 (Scottsdale or equivalent) and below came with black.

YE9 (Silverado level) came with chrome.

I didn't respond earlier because the OP has a Silverado and was on the right track looking for the chrome inserts.

Is that true on the 87+?
My r10 swb is a Silverado and has the YE9 code. My lock strip is black.
Also bought some blazer sliding rear windows from a 1990 (one my original ones was broken) and they had black lock strips.

Yes - especially 87. My truck is an 87 Scottsdale with black trim. It's one of the reasons I ordered the Scottsdale trim level (among others).

Yours sounds like a misbuild from the factory, or the trim has been replaced at some point.

Interesting. My Silverado has all the extra options like, 350 v8, 700r4, power windows, power locks, digital tape player, dual tanks...
Maybe someone had an off day. Trim looks original but you never know.

Also not to belabor the point (engineer in my past life and OCD) but this 87 Silverado looks to have a black lock strip too.

I have access to buying a new project, but I'm not going to! Family friend she is 83 years old, her husband passed in 2009. She has no idea how much this truck is worth. It was start disabled in 2007 (distributer wires disconnected) and hasn't moved from this spot because he tried to drive it in...

I only assumed this as all of my squares have been Silverados or Sierra Classics. Here's a couple pictures of my '87's. The blue one was purchased in July of 1989 with about 15-20k miles on it. The 3+3 was purchased in 1991. Both had black window trim and OEM glass.

I researched this before I ordered my truck, plus I watched about 900,000 of them go past my desk over a 6 year period.

Thanks everybody. I do have the YE9 code but the trim is in too good a shape to be original and I thought I remembered chrome trim all around the front and rear. But that was many moons ago.

I won't try to address which trim levels had the chrome strip and which did not but I do know that my '87 Sierra Classic had the chrome. Y'all can argue which ones had what, I only know what mine has.

The chrome trim is available on Ebay for about 1/2 the price as the supply houses. Probably the EXACT same stuff...

my 85 scottsdale has chrome. Ill be switching to black.
