Wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question. I have a 90 V2500 Suburban, the steering is loose. I have checked all front end components and everything checks out. I tried adjusting the play out of the gearbox which helped a lot but the play is still there. I am assuming the gearbox needs to be rebuilt or replaced. So my question is, will the "rebuild kits" fix the sloppiness or are these kits only intended to fix leaks? My truck has over 300K on it, just need to be certain that it's time to shell out the cash for a new box..
