Well after 4 days of torching, hammering, soaking in pb blaster I finally got them out. These things have to be the stupidest thing ever designed. I understand they make a tighter fit but come on really? This much trouble to take it off. VAL I messed the threads up beyond repair. I had to take a grinder to the stud to get the cone washer to slide out. Do I need to get a special stud or can I just get a grade 8 bolt and nut if I can't find the right pitch?

Needs to be a stud. The clamping force is different from a bolt.

Just be careful removing it, try to get a stud removal tool if you can, if it breaks off it will be another pita.

Actually the one I had to grind we just welded the nut on it and it spun right out and the others just took a monkey wrench on it real tight and it spun right out

they are backing out because you are probably using the c-lock nut. they should just screw in by hand. if they don't, get two regular nuts screw one on and then the other. lock them together by holding the bottom one with a wrench and tighten the top one against it. then run the stud down using the top nut when it's down break the two nuts apart opposite the way you installed them they will not remove the stud once you have broken them apart. I hope I explained this so you can understand if I was there I could show you. highdesertranger

I got it already in the process of putting the oil in the diffs. I don't have a pump just a hose and the oil. Taking forever
