Why risk damaging the paint on a homemade tool when this is $40 on amazon. Im sure you can find others cheaper, this looks to be made in USA if that matters to you.

I prefer tools made in the USA and I prefer to drive Chevy trucks, :boti:.

Thanks guys for recommending the pry bars. Guess I will get one to have on hand but have my doubts about it working with these aftermarket 16x8 wheels. The hubcap is more sunk into these wheels so you can't get a good angle with a pry bar. This isn't a problem with the original wheels and probably not a problem with the aftermarket 16x7 wheels. It's just that extra inch shrouding the hubcap. I will wrap whichever tool I end up using with electrical tape to protect the paint.

Just need to modify a flat blade screwdriver. Bend the end at a 90 degree angle and put electrical tape around the end. And rather than pry, just wiggle the "new" tool side to side in a couple spots under the edge of the cap. It will pop right off.
