Just an FYI - I installed this exact starter on my '83 2 weeks ago and it already has a dead spot on it. I have to tap it w/ a pipe or hammer in order to get it started. It even did it this morning when the truck was cold. Buyer beware.
Well thanks for the info. I dont mind spending money on a good one. I was looking at summit racing through theirs and ive seen some nice ones. Anyone have any recommendations?

I think im gonna end up using a replacement starter from the newer s10. Anything i need to consider before going that route? Aside from shorter bolts. And for a manual tranny
