Speedometer Connection To Tranny?

What am I looking at in this picture? My truck came without a speedometer cable and this connection is not something I’ve seen before. Forgive me if the answer is obvious.

That's an electronic speedometer VSS.

Thanks! Weird thing to put on a 82 Silverado, just another thing to worry about I guess

Someone swapped a 4L60E into the truck to get overdrive and didn't finish the job.
