So, I got a Pioneer stereo for my truck for Christmas. I got it installed and the current speakers SUCK! My ride has the dash corner speakers and behind the seat speakers. This is what I need to know:

1.) What size are the rear speakers? Crutchfield doesn't have any listed.
2.) How do I replace the dash corner speakers w/o cutting holes in the dash?

Thanks!

Glad I can still find 4x10's for the rear. Kicker makes a set that are 2 - 75 watt RMS. Woofer and tweeter only. Prolly get same brand for the front corners.

What do I need to do to remove dash pad? Just lift it off? Thx!

The dash pad is held in by screws. You have to take off the gauge cluster faceplate to get to all of them but once the screws are out it just lifts off.

If it was me replacing those rear speakers, I'd ditch the 4x10, get some speaker corner enclosures and run 6x9's. I believe crutchfield sells the enclosures but not 100% sure. Due to the dimensions 4x10s will never sound good regardless of brand of speaker so it's kind of a waste of money IMO you can still go with Kicker but I'd go with 6x9. Just my 2 cents :) what size are the dash speakers?

Dash speakers are 3.5".

I'm not too worried about the system sounding great. Just good enough and loud enough to hear over the exhaust.

Got the goods Thursday. Crutchfield did a bang up job in providing installation stuff. I can't wait to get them installed Saturday.

Curious question, is there enough room under the bench to install a powered subwoofer? Kicker makes a low profile sub that I am interested in.

Yeah crutchfield is sometimes on the higher end of cost (not always) but they are great to buy from when you're wanting to buy all from one place.

And I'd guess a shallow, powered sub would fit under there. You'll want to run a 4 gauge (or there a outs) power wire with fuse to the battery to power the sub. They should give you dimensions on the website so I'd measure first.
