Can I see the parts assembly like it can be disassembled, I just want to see the components because I have one in pieces but I don’t know where or what they look like. I have the band that is the hood down for sure, snd a bracket on the frame.

Mine looks just like Craigs in Post #6

I'm having a 'cage' made that resembles the tire carrier under a semi trailer. One side open - can push the wheel up into the cage, then use a chain / lock to keep it in. Always hated that whole setup from the factory for reasons @Raider L has already mentioned.

I have a Class 5 hitch going in so all my cross members and tire carrier is sitting here - as soon as the hitch and new spare carrier is in, they can all go away. The cross members are even powder coated satin black.

@AuroraGirl The bracket on the frame looks like the illustration on the glide-out, but the carrier piece does not. LMC says the glide-out, and the standard carrier that Craig 85 posted started in '75, so that may be an earlier one. Can't say I've seen enough of these things to know for sure.

78 is the bracket lol but the other is unknown, might not even be GM for all I know. There were a few 2nd gen rams that served short order as one-season plow trucks before frames buckled and cut up and scrapped by my grandfather many moons ago, and I have an F150 with a presumable ability to have a spare but Ive never checked into if it can with 2 tanks

I would suspect if you somehow had one that didnt sit below the frame rails that it possibly could work together. but thats.... well I dont need to explain why that isnt exactly a bolt on thing lol
