I'm sensing a pattern developing here.

It's a pattern that's sweeping the nation like the homosexual agenda.
Oops.

I'm just over here trying to collect all the big and small blocks that people toss for an LS.

I'll save em when the sentiment and regret comes back

I don't have an LS. I'm just reminded how much I want one everytime I look at the newest oil leak from my brand new crate engine.

My co-worker recently bought a Tesla. It's the fastest car I've ever rode in. As I looked it over I kept thinking to myself... No oil to leak, no coolant to leak, no gear oil to leak, no exhaust to leak, no plugs to foul, no radiator, no fans, the list goes on and on.

So when the cybertruck comes out I guess I'll be saying, shitcan it, electric motor swap it.

Which brings up another non related rant I have:

I was always taught that electricity drives motors and gasoline drives engines. Then why is Motortrend TV not called "Enginetrend TV?

You're honestly just trading one problem for another with a Tesla. Tons of technology in them, and you know how quickly technology gets outdated. You're driving a 40 year old truck. Think a Tesla will be around being driven in 40 years? Doubt it. It'll be like a 10 year old iPod or smartphone 10 years from now. Obsolete, and no more update support. You'll also have those expensive batteries that'll eventually start going bad

Lol. If $300 for a battery seems like a lot to you, definitely don't get a Tesla. You're looking at thousands to replace the batteries

What does the oil look like around 800 to 1,000 miles on it? Dark? Might be years of crud built up, what Josh and BigChip have said I would also check.

If stuff might be plugged up internally in the engine you cannot see, or the oil is just dark and not clean after a short amount of miles, a good oil for cleaning is shell rotella 15-40.

Don't be afraid to also use a little bit of seafoam in the oil too to help get it all cleaned up. At the same time run a good carb/fuel injector cleaner in the tank too. I have done this with engines and it does help to get them cleaned up internally, and requires a bit more frequent oil change to get the crap out. However, after a bit it will be worth it.
Yeah the oil gets dark really quick. Do you use the carb/fuel injector cleaner once a month or every gas tank?

and I’ve been using 10w-30 but I’ll give your suggested oil a try

thanks

Your aliens are more likely to appear before an EMP. Lol. I think we effectively highjacked the OP's thread. Lol

it wont charge the battery though because it will wipe out the voltage regulator in the alternator.
