for those of you running headers on your SB, what are you using to keep your spark plug wires off the headers? Pics would be cool.

I've always been fine just using wires with 90* plug ends, except for just one set of Hooker headers. One wire had to have a straight boot, iirc it was the #5 cylinder.

I too have the boot heat sleeves on my sbc...headers melted the last set of boots before getting the sleeves.

The PO had them on my 85 with the stock manifolds. I left them on after my header swap and wouldn't not use them in the future. Kinda pricey but worth it IMO.

A good start is small "ISO size" spark plugs like the ones on the left.

Here they are on GM Vortec heads that place the plugs even closer to the exhaust port than conventional heads.
