Oh yeah, i twin sticked the 205(JB Custom Fab) because i didnt get a shifter in the deal and if i was gonna pay 150 for a oem one i might as well go for the gold.
Good work. That came out nice, looks professional. Never used a twin stick transfer case.
What will that give you?

It separates the front from the rear. In other words:

It allows rear high/low, front high/low, and 4wd high/low.

The 205 has slide pins(actual name?) that wont let you shift one axle to low and the other to high. You also have to grind a little off of one of the shift rails to allow the front/rear separation. Not to bad, or u can buy one already like that($).

I have a sm 465 on a frame and 90% sure one in my shop.

although, i must admit, if i dont have more than 1 im going to want more than a fair amount for it, simply because id like to keep one on hand to have it rebuilt so i dont have to take my truck out of comission long time

I found one on Craigslist for$500. Sm465/np205, adapter, crossmember, bellhousing and driveshafts but it was all pretty ruff. Bellhousing and front bearing retainer were broken, both adapter to crossmember bolts were broken off in the adapter, shift handle welds all cracked, lots of missing nuts/bolts and caked with about an inch of sticky, thick oil/grease/dirt. All the bearings are good, and the 205 looked great inside but the 465 has a small piece missing from the reverse fork and chewed up reverse gear. Everything shifts right(on the ground), i couldnt find a reverse fork and i dont have a press, so i resealed it and im gonna run it planning future rebuild(timeframe depending on how it acts). Luckily i had a bellhousing, some clutch linkage and a set of pedals laying around because that stuff adds up quick. Im just about to get the swap done but i have alot more time in this than i expected.

If I can't do the swap with Matt I've got a few options. Just waiting for some items to sell on MP so I can get the cash to get the pieces I need. There are 1-2 setups around Peoria, IL, one is asking $300 for the whole 465/205 setup and the other wants $300 for the 465/205 and an extra $200 for a hydraulic bellhousing. Multiple people close to me are selling a manual pedal setup for about $100.

@K201979 Did you get all those pieces powder coated or are they just painted? They look awesome!

Hippie, your gonna love that 465. IMO, best manual transmission you could put in a Chevy truck. I've had many 465s and currently have one.

Ive had a couple before and i do love them. I was looking for a 465/205 truck when i couldnt pass this one up and ive been looking to swap ever since. Only took me 3 years to find one and get it done. I cant wait to fall even deeper in love with my truck. :waytogo:

edit: i have only owned manual linkage 465’s.

Why would you want to swap the best manual tranny ever for a weak automatic?

Very nice job, wondering if you could take a picture of all the clutch spring connections. That is one thing I wasn't paying attention to when I removed my engine and I separated it at the bellhousing/trans connection.

Thanks. I planned on hanging in to the pedal set incase i wanted to go back auto(not gonna happen), or figured id sell them with the 400 when the time came but if a fellow member is in a bind, i might can be persuaded. Got anything good, (and shippable), to trade? I need the driveshaft outta a manual longbed(one i swapped in has worn out splines in the slip)but might be hell to ship. Cant find anything at a pick and pull? Auto trucks are all over around here.

I hear you need driveshafts. I've got longbed slip shaft on my earlier pic. It's the 2 shaft version not one single though
