I'm really amazed that this thread is still going!
Thanks to all who have contributed.
Taking these old original sliding windows apart is quite challenging.
It's kind of like a jigsaw puzzle that has to come apart in a certain order.
Of course as stated earlier, once it's apart, suitable replacements for all the parts and seals and shims etc inside are not available to my knowledge.

Someone else was asking about the aftermarket replacements.
They're a completely different design and so the parts are not interchangeable with the originals.
Thanks again to all.
I hope maybe they'll start reproducing some of this stuff soon.

Mine's in good shape except for the latch. Bought a new one in the "Help" section of the auto parts store. I've heard some negative reviews on this latch but right now mine has a plastic zip tie as a latch so for less than $10 it is worth a try to see if it lasts.
If my memory serves me right, I thought I saw replacement latches on one of the truck parts sites. I'll look and see if I can find them

Hello All,
Big time CK/RV fan here, with a question on factory sliding rear windows on 81-87 Pickups. The slider on my '82 C20 is toast. Does anyone know of an outfit that restores these windows or a source for replacement parts? ALl I have seen is aftermarket replacements which arn't the same.
Thanks!

TruckShop also has the latches
