I am converting a 1987 C30 2 wheel drive low rider to 4 wheel drive. WOW I had no idea they are so different. I built a custom cross member to bolt the motor mounts to and strengthen the frame. It was to difficult to get the original in with out pulling the engine. The brakes system on the truck i took apart states to use silicone brake fluid only. The master I am using is from the 2 wheel drive and has dot 3 in it. My question is are the two fluids compatible? How do I go about this conversion if they are not?

I also have all the suspension and dually bed available for sale how do I go about posting that? Is there a special section for parts for sale? I am new to this forum.

Silicone brake fluid (DOT 5) is not compatible with glycol-based DOT 3 or 4. Are you sure it says silicone and not synthetic? It's unusual to find an older truck using DOT 5 unless it was converted by the previous owner.

I have switched a system from DOT 3 to DOT 5 but it was done while the master cylinder and all wheel cylinders were out for rebuild so it only required me to thoroughly flush the hard lines before reassembly.

As for the ad, there is a minimum post count required to post in the "for sale" section. You're not there yet.

Oh, I responded to the other thread. Disregard my post there, I'd say John's post is more accurate.
