finally got a new daily so the wifey can have her family truckster back..
bought this a few weeks ago, '97 chev rcsb 4x4. pretty much a twin to my kid's '96 rcsb. both are base models, both victory red, both 5 speeds with 3:73's...and both are 4.3's.
ya, i know i said no v6's, but it crossed off 3 of my 4 wants, manual trans, manual t-case and vinyl floor...and the price was right cause the p.o.'s mom hit a metal gate pole with it and did some damage. she bent the fr bumper 2 different ways, broke the filler piece between the grille and bumper, broke some mounting tabs off the grille and smacked up the drivers fender nicely.
the day i brought it home. runs perfect (120 000 miles) new clutch last yr, good brakes and overall a nice "tight" truck with absolutely no rust. can see the number mom did on the front end.

haven't done much mechanically, replaced the stupid, whiny EVO steering pump with a regular one, put a bigger alternator in for my amps and subs, and replaced the weak starter with a mini. also had to change the hood latch and tailgate latch as both were pretty much seized up. i hole sawed a hole in the back of the fender and was able to push 90% of the dent out, which looks not bad and will do till i can find a victory red fender...not really into painting another fender, would rather get one already the color i need. sadly there is a crease in it, but the fender flare hides most of it. and i got another sticker-fied truck. why do people put such lame a$$ decals on their vehicles....as with my son's '96, had to spend some time de-gayifying this one as well.

wheels pretty decent, even low with cruddy 265's on it

build has pretty much mirrored my kid's '96. some fender flares, small lift, 285 Coopers, some new Skyjacker shocks. took the grille and filler piece off my '90 gmc stepper, little bit of paint and also snagged the fr and rr bumpers from my stepper as well. just to screw with peoples minds, i ordered a billet grille for the center grille and will hang a bowtie emblem on it

just waiting for my rear shocks and t. bar keys to show up and these new rims and 285's are going on it. same tires as we put on my sons. i find the cooper stt's bite harder than the km2's we were running
