I’ve read many posts regarding after market dash pad, mostly about unsatisfied quality, price and delivery time. I have seen a lot of creative custom covers which looked very unique but I am undecided which way I will “customize” my canvas art. How about sharing your customization along with the technique you chose? Maybe a before and after? Here’s my before with the cracks filled with liquid nails. You could even include customization with center console, ash tray, door panels, etc? I’m leaning towards a spray or brush coating technique.

factory gauges were junk and i have zero intention of wasting 800-1000 on someone elses rebuilt part sooooo off to oreillys i went got some whiteface trigauge set swung thru walmartz since hadda have fuel scooped up some blue LED dashlitz and rewired and updated the assy myself... ona the cheap.... lol

probably not for everyone but my grandson thinks its "KKEEWWWWLLLLLLpappa!" soooo really thats all that matters to me lol

I don’t have much of an interior to pimp. In fact, I only really have a dash (plus Silverado seats and bare floor that will eventually get bed lined).

Autometer gauges, a Coverlay dash cover and LMC trim.

This thread reminds my of an S10 I bought a while ago. The interior featured purple crushed velvet. It was so terrible that it was awesome, lol. I've been meaning to recover a dash pad in some crazy kind of fabric, but haven't got around to it yet.

Do you have a good fabric dash cover tutorial to share with the rest of us? Mine is so hideous that the PO spray painted it flat black. I need some unsprayation to get me to do something cool to it

Do you have a good fabric dash cover tutorial to share with the rest of us? Mine is so hideous that the PO spray painted it flat black. I need some unsprayation to get me to do something cool to it

I don't. It's something I've never tried yet.

Steady but slow work on the interior because of other projects. Vinyl dash and seats in progress. And definitely learning along the way. I wanted to do leather, well, because, who doesn't love a good quality leather. So, for the first one ever, I decided to go economical and use heavy vinyl. The seat must be an aftermarket and I couldn't find shaped foam, so I made a template and dug in. Not for show but for a driver, I'm satisfied and when these get to the end of their life cycle, who knows. In the meantime, I'll re-ulpolster the spare bench that's in the truck to sell and pay for the materials to do the seat I'm keeping. Don't forget the visors too. The wee little cup holder was patched with melted zip ties and painted.

I'm thinking about a leather dash cover with a nice decorative buck stitch and making my door pockets small saddle bags when the weather gets nice out....

Restored my interior with USA1 parts and Leather seat. Restored seat belts too. Dash pad is original.

@tboltkc thanks. I cleaned it up by cutting old, cracked and hard pieces. I cut away some rusted edges (truck must have either had a window out or just leaked. Because I'm not a welder, I used old heating duct I have removed from the old house and JB welded it on. I know it sounds like I rigged it and that answer is I did. Sounds worse than it was. I used bondo in the deepest crevices, dried, sanded, applied for bondo and mesh tape (like drywall tape), then sanded. I used vinyl from Amazon and contact cement to attach and wrap. I used a heat gun for the curvy parts to stretch and attach. Took several days but maybe 3 total hours of work. I tried some spray foam but ultimately, the bondo was the easiest and looked better. (I cant find a pic with just bondo sanded). It's good enough to run to the home improvement store or kayak hauling. For the next one...I will only use bondo, cover over the speaker hole and maybe sew some pieces together to create a more polished look. You know, for practice. LOL
