I finally got around to adding wiper blades so I could try out the wipers. They seem to work but the speed didn't really change much from slow to fast. Also when I turn them off they just stop wherever I turned them off.

Are they supposed to park? Is there an intermittent?

I'm afraid to even test the fluid squirter :hahano:

They park, and intermittent was not an option until later years.

experiencing a similar problem in my 81 k10. replaced the motor/washer assembly because the original would not "park" the wipers but rather stop them wherever they are when the wipers are switched off. Same problem with the new motor assembly. Is there an external module or contact switch?

It should park. The park switch is in the motor. Your wiper switch could be bad or wiring to the park switch or ground.
The thread linked below contains 2 diagrams:

You can test all functions of the motor with removing the harness and connect 12v and check with the grounds with jumper wires.

Good luck, let me know if you need help, just finished chasing this issue on my own truck and took me a while to get it right.

just a follow up to this issue, I relocated some grounds and moved one directly under the mounting screw of the new motor assembly and it worked! wipers park like they should and now I'm going around and replacing/adding grounds between firewall to frame to engine. Amazing what good grounds will do for ya! Thanks for all your help!

Oh by the way, I have a used wiper motor with pump attached to it available if anyone is interested! 81 Chevy K10.
