The dash was torn apart in my truck when I purchased it, I want to fix the shift indicator but the part the cable rides in is broken. I circled the broken part in the pic below. Is that a replaceable part or do I need a different cluster? Thanks

As far as I know, that is not replaceable, except to replace the gauge cluster housing. Watch out on used ones as 40-50 year old plastic is quite fragile. These are prone to breaking, and also exercise care with the mounting tabs on the housing.

Unfortunately, it is part of the plastic gauge cluster and not replaceable. There are a lot of them on e bay cheap but beware the tab on the left side tends to break off the easiest and these things are 30 plus years old so the plastic is brittle.

The plastic was broken on my truck as well. I removed the remaining plastic then I drilled a hole in the metal dash behind it. I used a piece of 3/8” chrome plated fuel line with a flare on the end. I used a longish sheet metal screw to pass through the tube to mount it to the dash in place of the removed plastic. I then routed the cable from the indicator over the tube then to the steering column as it was originally. The flared end on the tube keeps the cable from sliding off. So far it works as well as the original.

If it is broken, it looks barely broken. Mine by comparison.

Don-Ts idea makes sense.

Or, I wonder if you could glue a flat washer on top of the piece circled in red.

Try superglue. The other fixes sound good too. Above all, be gentle.

You can order that piece separate, I got one from LMC. I have since gone to Dakota Gauges, I can send you mine if you want it. Just send me your address and I’ll get it in the mail Monday.
Roger

Unless I’m an idiot and forgetting all about the dash differences. Mine was for an 87 style dash.
