It could be either I've had them both ways, if you have the instructions it will tell, if not take the cap off and use a hand vacuum pump and see how much vacuum it takes to pull it open, that or just take it on the road and experiment, give it a turn one way and try it, if it rattles more then go the opposite way until the rattle goes away, if you run out of adjustment and it still rattles then you'll have to take a couple degrees or whatever it takes out of your total.

Alright I will try that. I got it down to 16* at idle so I think turning it ccw reduces vacuum. Should put me at 50 total now. I'll try it again tomorrow and see if it still rattles

Gotcha, well hopefully it doesn't come down to that. This timing business is serious stuff. Would msd do anything to help?
