I'll eventually have to replace the seat belts that I destroyed...
I really don't like the older style belts that requires 2 hands to buckle/unbuckle. I'd much prefer to put in a more modern type, with a stiff braided wire for the female side of the buckle and a single belt reel with a sliding buckle.
BUT, I haven't seen any aftermarket items of that variety and the seat-belt isn't something I really want to build custom myself.

Anybody seen it done? Maybe from a newer C/K truck or something?

Cant say enough good things about SeatBelt Planet. bought a front seat set for my 87 suburban. Then ordered a second set for second seat, and I screwed up the order. When called to return them, they took them back...no questions asked. Then a few days later I had a call to clarify what I needed.

Do you just measure the length you need for the female side?

Yes. It was a slightly different due to the way they mount behind the seat on 2nd row

@yevgenievich,

You say you "destroyed" your original seat belts. What the heck did you do to destroy them? Just curious.

Must be autocorrected reply somewhere. I think original belts still in a box somewhere in storage.

Did they fit your original mounting locations and fasteners? Or did you have to order mounting brackets?

I need to dig through my build thread. Seat belts come with universal brackets and it took a bit of time to set them up to where it was working like I thought it should. (I remember at some point of time flipping the webbing through some pieces) have essentially same belts on my elco, except older style latch.
When I was getting them for the suburban, I ordered blue plastic pieces to better match interior

Rear seats need 8"-9" long buckles. Standard aftermarket at the time were 12" and were too long
