So in the ever continuing saga of what can I unintentionally do wrong with this project. I have gotten both Reid knuckles, axel shafts, wheel locks replaced and hubs reinstalled. Yesterday I removed and installed the new steering box and at that point was all ready to put the tie rod back on. It was then that I found out because I ordered top down knuckles (bottom bolt) that I don’t have enough clearance under my leaf springs to install it. So after talking with Offroad Design and giving consideration to loosening the U Bolt on the leaf springs to try and gain clearance I am waiting for them to send me collars that will allow me to drill out the knuckle and seat the collar changing this to a “bolt up” under mount tie rod system!! So a truck I thought I would be driving today is now at best will be next week. It did give me time to get rid of the old ugly LED headlights and replace them along with the old faded driving lights. So there is the bright spot (no pun intended). I have also taken the opportunity to order a replacement steering shaft so I can get ride of that rag joint. We will see how that goes. As always thanks for all the advice along the way.

On another note I have a problem with my replacement steering shaft. The supplied end of the steering shaft is double D shaped but the end coming off the steering column is round. Have any of you run into this issue. I’ll post some pics of what I’m talking about in a few minutes. I have to go take them.
