Find it and read it.
See if it speaks to you.

This stuff can cost thousands of dollars to do right, if that is what you are into.
Or it can cost you thousands of dollars if you select random stuff that turns out to be junk.
Just like with height or wiener size, this stuff gets lied about and ability inflated.

Some manufactures are just out to make a buck and some are out to make a customer.
Take your time and find things you like.
Then take a minute and do a simple google search or a YouTube search to find out how it worked out for somebody else.
That is how I have done my recent stereo system research lately.

Crutchfield is just one of many places on the interwebs you can find this kind of information.

Do research and don't just buy things on price point alone.

I found this today in another Jeep rock crawler I'm doing custom electrical work on. Extremely well designed, with great features and specs. When I finish adding his sub amp to the system I will give it a listen and let you know what I think of it. Should be finishing it next week.

FYI, If you are looking for advise on car audio, find someone that actually knows something. Never take advise from a sales person. Their priority is selling what they have and what they make the most profit on, and then a warranty. LOL

Also it was mentioned in an earlier post about matching the ohms on the speaker to the amp. The ohms do not have to match. All mid quality or better stereos and amps will be rated 4 to 8 ohms. If it's rated for MORE than 8 ohms, it is entry level junk. You can power 2, 4, 6 or 8 ohm speakers with an amp that is rated down to 2 ohms. Really high end amps will be rated down to 2 ohms and will use the term "stable". Just for reference, a dead short is 0 ohms. You can damn near arc weld with a high power amp that is stable down to a 2 ohm load.

A trip to Walmart is all you need. They have Kenwood,Sony, pioneer and other head units. I bought a Kenwood for 100 bucks. They have amps kicker subs and boxes. They have the wiring kit that has wires labeled and you can plug it right into your stereo wire plug if po hasn't already messed it up.

They got really everything that you need to put in a good system. I had 2 12s in my 75 c20 in high school. My dad listened to old country music and that's it. He borrowed my truck one day. When he got back he told me he never realized that country music had good bass in it. He said it made it sound much better and he liked it. So you'll want some bass in your music to make it sound better. Just have to adjust it for your preference.

Anyone have one of these installed in their truck, just wondering. Thought it might be just what the doctor ordered to compliment the dash unit, only 3” deep, fits under the seat.

Cructhfield all the way! Retrosounds with plug adapter. No cutting, Bluetooth, knobs and buttons and I get excellent sound from the original speakers. Wonderful upgrade, no regrets!
same here with 3" front oem placement Kikers, fosgate 6x9 with Brothers adaptor, 8" small amp/sub S/O under seat, take no space and sound amazing ;)

We kinda did the same in E’s ashtray. He wanted some space left for engine computer port if he ever upgraded.

Did you put the carpet on the speaker adapters? All the ones in my Google search are just a plate.
Also, does the sub amp offer power for the other speakers?

I'd appreciate feedback on what I plan to buy for my son's '77.

Retrosound w/ Bluetooth mounted in original location
Retrosound Amp to power
2 6x9's for cab corners
2 5 or 6" kick panel

The retrosound powered sub mounted under seat.

And a center dash speaker.

My questions are:

Do I buy the split center dash speaker or the stereo? And how do I power if the sub only powers 4 speakers and is already in use?
Should I buy 2 of the powered subs?
Are the kick panel speakers in the way? They stick out and I've heard people saying some interfere w/ parking brake
Any experience with the little 1" tweeters that are built into the pillar covers?

Get a 5 channel Amp to power amp then that leaves 4 channels left for the other speakers. If you want to tie in dash dual speaker into kick panel speakers that can be done as well. We have dual dash speaker but left option for additional door mounted speakers if this was not enough sound. I can hear this knucklehead pulling in the neighborhood, I don’t think additional speakers are needed……

And a center dash speaker.
A center channel can be a valuable addition to a well tuned system, however IMHO with the equipment you are planning on will not improve your listening experience. Stick with the four other channels and sub, maybe use the money saved on the dash speakers to upgrade one of the other sets.
