That's the thing about the Qjets. If you get them built right, they're great carbs. And usually, most of the things done to them are pretty much permanent fixes. Like sealing the well plugs and bushing the throttle shafts. The aluminum does wear fast at the throttle shafts but once you get the bushings installed, those will last much longer than the aluminum. The other thing the good guys do, is make sure the mating surfaces are true and flat.
