I have a 17 inch rim on the front of my truck with a 215/65 tire and I noticed how close the tire and rim are to the tie rod so does that mean if I go any bigger of a tire will I have rubbing issues or should I just go to a size 18 inch rim or bigger spacers?

Welcome!

Start by checking the backspacing on your current rims. More than likely, they have a larger backspacing than the stock rims were, thus the closer proximity to the tie rods.
