what is the wiring harness on the right side that comes through the firewall. I assumed that spark control but I have 0 emissions on the truck. So do I need any of it? And if not, what do you use to plug the hole?

Lol. I mean, you can come over and help if you’re that free.

No I’m serious. None of this was hooked up to anything and I dug for a few hours trying to figure out what all of those should go to and if any of it is needed.

It is the EST harness. The 4 pin plug would go to an EST driven distributor and the 2 pin lug would go to the tip-in switch. The tip-in (if it were still there) would be mounted where indicated by the yellow circles:

**** off the engine side of the harness at the firewall, pull the other side back into the cab and seal the hole with a squirt of silicone.

Thank you! I think I ended up pulling the Tip-in because it wasn’t connected to anything, who’da thunk?

I had planned on doing what you said, but measure twice, cut once. And I didn’t want to cut anything I shouldn’t. But anyone with a clean firewall doesn’t have that harness.

Or take your time pulling it out intact and save it for some poor sot in CA who needs to keep their emissions equipment intact.

I've saved all my smog pumps, brackets, hoses and related garbage for a bunch of suckers... er, I mean Californian's in the future.

I usually think about Californians, but... the question is how good this wiring is because of the PO. I’ll check it out and if it’s half way reusable, I’ll keep it.
