Hell yeah. Thanks for the insight and added information about the swap. If you have a picture after install with total length that would be good too.

OK I know I have peppered this thread with a few back to back posts but if anyone is looking for a new lower shaft check out morris 4x4. Part number is a Crown 4713943. Make an account with them and use code 10thanks at checkout and you can get it shipped to your door step for $94.99.

Not trying to be the forum jackass here, but I've got two of these shafts used. $50.00 money order or $51.20 cash using COD through the post office.

I haven't even been to Lafayette, bud. :) I'd be willing to meet in Baton Rouge or something like that. That'd be too far for you, though, huh? You're in the W-NW Louisiana area. Is New Orleans ever on your map? I've got them with me here.

Actually... There's this young lady who lives a few doors down from me in the dorm who goes home to Ruston once in a while. We're only acquaintances, but I might could talk her into it. Is that close to you? If that would work, it'd only be $50 since I'm not dealing with the USPS.

I must have had you confused with someone else then... Do you know where Gibson, LA is on U.S. 90? I could meet you there sometime next week. Tuesday would likely be the best day.

I gotcha. Let me know when you get back, and we'll figure it out. You've got dibs on one unless you say otherwise.

Got another today. I put a self sinching loop around a bradford pear limb then put it on the int shaft. Same thing on the other end except to ball hitch.

Popped right out with no throttle. Be a good idea to secure the end by the truck to the tree so u dont hit the truck. Luckily mine went under the truck.

Be careful with that shaft. I had one that was just like that and got it installed in the Jimmy. It was good on the ends but had play in the middle. I ended up chunking it and using my last one that I had to do the good old heat, compress, heat, and expand. It was perfectly safe, but I want that 100% tightness.

I think Im going to try this. With a 4" lift and 35's, brand new draglinks, brand new connecting rod ends, balljoints, sway bar extensions, greasable leaf spring poly bushings, a new rag joint, and a new steering box, It STILL has play in the wheel like a worn out Mexican dump truck. Its unbelievable after all those upgrades. 4-6" of play in the steering wheel before the wheels respond.
